Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.

Students who desire to do their best on any style of exam, commonly spend multiple hours of preparation before the task. Effective test preparations and strategies are distinct to all individuals, due to the fact that others acquire information in a variety of ways. Testing ensures that students develop a practical system for remembering information, in order to enhance recall of important material. The act of taking a test requires that students coordinate multiple skills, often under the pressure of time.
The most important testing technique, is to ensure that you are giving yourself enough time to study. While some students do seem to thrive on last-minute cramming, it is widely accepted that this is not the best way to approach a quiz. To help sort out time management, set up a timetable plan for your study. You may want to give some exams more study time than others, so find a balance that you feel comfortable with. It is key to begin studying several days before a big test, rather than attempting to remember all information, in a limited amount of time. This allows the brain to slowly remember statistics, and recall more material.
Personally, I find the method of studying with others very valuable. For example, before a major test, I group with other peers in order to ‘quiz’ each other over the class material. My parents, little brother, and sister all play a major role in this step as well. By using them to your advantage, explain an answer to a question, to them. This tool will help by getting unclear information, inside your head. It also allows individuals to highlight any areas where more work is needed.
Finally, while you may think it is best to study for as many hours as possible, recurring breaks are very helpful. Try not to feel guilty about being out enjoying the sunshine, instead of hunched over a pile of textbooks. This last tool is key to limiting stress that many scholars consume in the final few days prior to testing.
