Write an essay where you tell us what test preparation practices work best for you and why.
To prepare for a test I make that I am first engaged in the class. Before any test you should make sure that I have been taught the knowledge by my teacher. Engaging in class is the best way to do this. If something does not make sense to me I make sure to raise my hand and ask questions. Taking notes while they are talking also helps. For me writing something down vs. typing it helps commit what I want to remember in my head. I will review the notes after I have taken them. If my class has a text book I make sure to read it. The teacher may explain something one way and the textbook another. This helps me get a vast amount of example on the content. When the test is coming up I will ask the teacher "What should I be studying" or "Is there any study guide I could have". In my math classes this is fairly simple. I just go to the problems that the test will be over from the time I get home to the time I go to sleep. Regardless of how well I feel I have mastered the content, I believe it is about time spent on task rather than until I get it. Feeling over confident will get the best of me. When I study for this long, it leads to good results. If I can not meet with the teacher to ask a question about a problem, or need someone to go through them with me, I make sure I schedule a person to help me. All of these methods combined have led to me being successful on my tests in most of my classes.
