Selection of the Scholarship Recipients

The judging of applications will take place in two stages. First, prior to midnight Central Time on June 1, 2017, visitors to the Mometrix website will be able to vote on available submissions. At the conclusion of this period, the ten submissions with the highest total number of votes will be selected for the second and final stage. In addition, up to ten more essays may be selected by Mometrix staff for the final stage. Mometrix’s choices are made at its sole discretion. Prior to midnight Central Time on June 9, 2017, a second stage of evaluation will occur during which a screening committee selected by Mometrix will vote on the finalists (up to twenty). At the conclusion of this stage, the three best applications will be awarded scholarships of $2,500, $1,000 and $500 respectively. Upon selecting a winner the funds will be submitted to the recipient's college or university.
